Managing your trusts to achieve the best outcome for beneficiaries

Preparation of your Trust and Estate accounts and tax returns

Trusts are a very niche area of tax and other law. Tax law changes every year. Being a Trustee is rather like being a Director. It comes with serious responsibilities and heavy penalties for getting it wrong.

Trust and Estate accounts need to be kept up to date so that Trustees/Executors know what their assets and liabilities are at any time and can account to their beneficiaries for them.

About Sara

After university Sara worked in London, for two years with the Inland Revenue and then eleven years with KMPG. There she did personal tax followed by tax investigations, both personal and corporate.  Sara then moved to Harrogate and had four years with EY in Leeds doing employer taxes. Following that she did mixed tax at Saffery Champness for a year before moving to the Leeds office of Wrigleys, a leading private client law firm.  Sara spent thirteen years there as a Trust Manager and worked closely with the solicitors on trust advisory matters.  Following that she headed up the Trust Department at an independent accountancy firm in Leeds; gained some probate experience at a law firm in Harrogate; and moved back into Leeds to head up the Tax and Trusts team of a national law firm. Sara then decided for lifestyle reasons to set up her own business providing specialist services to other firms.

Sara is a member of the Chartered Institute of Tax and the Society of Trust  and Estate Practitioners.
